Last year, this movie was wildly popular among my friends who thought it was cute, witty, and absolutely hilarious. Myself, I wonder if they had all been high at the time. It was a bold try at comedy nobody had seen before, but in my opinion, it had fallen flat on it's face. None of the things you would think to be the center of this plot, actually were: any stress or social iscolation Juno experienced due to the pregnancy were subjects barely flitted by. In fact, she take the whole thing in a stride that's just all too perky whoop-de-doo for me to take seriously. Not even to mention the sound-track: an abnoxiously hippie acoustic band with nursery-rhyme schemes and beats that all sounded the same to me.
So, maybe I'm just cynical or a little too dark, but suffice to say, I guess I just didn't get it.

Most reviews of this fine little movie put it in a 'comedy' categorization. It's actually a very serious piece that takes on the politics of teen pregnancy, middle-aged parenting, high school weltschmertz, adoption, rock 'n' roll and the very nature of love itself. I watched it with my eleven-year-old son and found it a very useful tool for discussing adolescent sex afterwards. Sensitively directed by Jason Reitman, the film's ensemble all do a remarkable job. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner are both remarkably convincing in a supporting role as an unhappily married couple trying to save their marriage with an adoption. The always winning Michael Cera shows he's got serious acting jobs beyond the goofy slapstick of 'Superbad.' His partner in pregnancy, Juno, played with a very light touch by Ellen Page, is a conundrum. An old-headed teenager just as interested in playing her guitar and the Machiavellian goings-on in the world of rock 'n' roll as she is with being a mother. A fine fine movie!

You would think that Jennifer Garner could spot a bad movie just by reading the script. Apparently, she had a brain-lapse on this one. So happy that I did not pay money to see it in the theaters; it was not worth spending any money on. The issue of teen pregnancy was taken extremely too lightly. Do not recommend unless you have money to burn.

I have teenage girls so I wondered how this was being presented. I thought it did a realistic job. It was funny, you cried when you needed to, Juno finds some answers, and we all got some laughs. Unless it is a kids movie, I seldom keep movies for me. I kept this one to watch more than once, I thought it was that good.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie!!!!!!!!! It was humorous for both adults and teens - though I wouldn't let a teen watch it as it takes unprotected sex and pregnancy very lightly (with an underlying serious message that might, unfortunately, get through). You will enjoy all of the snarky remarks and quirky romantic gestures. Have your rewind button under your finger or put on the captions, cause you're bound to miss something at least once! Take the time, it's worth the laugh!

I couldn't agree more with SAA on this film. It tried so hard to be "cool" and touching and witty at the same time, and fell a little short. Especially the last 20 minutes, which I guess was supposed to be the tear jerker moment. I cannot believe all the hype surrounding this film. It wasn't terrible, but just wasn't terribly great. I am so glad I waited for it to come out on cable, because even a trip to the library or blockbuster would have been a waste of gas and effort.

Mehhh... I don't think so... Although the acting was 'passably' good, the script was really not. Tried way too hard. And fell way short of its aim. Not clever. Not funny. Not touching. Not great. Though it tries very, very hard to be all those things. Who the heck reviewed this movie for these awards??? None of them are deserved in the least. If I had known, I would not have wasted my time on it. (shrug)

I really enjoyed this film. I was skeptical at first...judging by the cover it seemed to be an indy type film, which I ususally find odd and 'out there'.
Ellen Page's performance is great, playing a slighty sardonic character whose insight into life is beyond that of most other 16-year old's in her situation. While (enjoyably) off-beat at times, the film is humourous during an otherwise hard-to-swallow situation.

I thought this was a cute movie with a good ending.
However I did not think it was as great as all the hype it received.
