Organized by George Harrison after close friend Ravi Shankar alerted him to the plight of refugees seeking independence from Pakistan, this 1971 concert offers performances by both Harrison and Shankar in addition to featuring such legendary recording artists as Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ringo Starr. Songs performed in this Madison Square Garden mega-concert include "Blowin' in the Wind", "&Here Comes the Sun" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
Editorial Review of DVD
This DVD documents one of the first benefit concerts of the rock era, George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh. The disc offers a standard full-frame transfer. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Although there are no supplemental materials of any consequence, the amazing performances by Harrison and guests Eric Clapton and Ravi Shankar make this disc mandatory viewing for Beatle fans and rock enthusiasts in general. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
