Made only a year after the first Doctor Who film, in order to ride the pop culture hysteria known as Dalekmania,
Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. is an even more action-packed science fiction extravaganza than the first installment. Chronicling the Daleks' takeover of Earth and their enslavement of the human race, the film contains fantastic visuals (a battle-torn, rubble strewn London) and more Daleks, Daleks, Daleks. Unfortunately, for fans of the series, this was the last of the big-budget Dr. Who feature films. But fans still had the television series and the countless books, comics, records, and more to keep them satiated. Like their release of the earlier film, Anchor Bay Entertainment's disc looks and sounds great. The widescreen transfer (2.35:1 enhanced) is bright and colorful and nicely captures the film's attention to detail. Although this installment does not contain such a vivid color palette as the first film, it nevertheless looks stunning. The disc is available in its original English mono soundtrack, as well as a French-language track. Theatrical trailers, poster and still galleries, a
Peter Cushing bio, and a history of Dr. Who essay have also been included. But unlike the companion disc =Dr. Who and the Daleks, there is no commentary track. This disc is available separately or as part of the =Doctor Who Collection. ~ Derek Hill, All Movie Guide
