DVD Synopsis
Some computer-generated imagery summons the ghost of a departed cast member for one final appearance in this turning point episode of the hit crime drama. After learning that his daughter Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) is dating a half Jewish, half African-American student at Columbia, New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) has a stress-related anxiety attack and blackout. His problems are compounded when, after a contentious visit with his mother Livia (Nancy Marchand), he receives word that the manipulative matriarch has died of a stroke. Tony's flower-child sister, Janice (Aida Tuturro), insists on a memorial service but gets more than she bargained for when assembled family members share their true feelings about the less-than-dearly departed. At a session with his therapist, Dr. Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco), Tony about sums it up by confiding that he's glad his mother is gone. My husband started watching this series and every once in a while I would look up from the book I was reading to watch here and there. By the second season I gave up reading and just watched the show. I didn't think I would like it because it's about, the life and trials of the "New Jersey Mafia" and that kind of thing usually doesn't interest me, however this is a very well written show, with characters you'll love to hate and some that you might even find enduring. :)Tony Soprano the NJ "boss" is one such character. He's ruthless, greedy, never faithful to his wife. BUT, is a good father, has a soft spot for animals and also his cousin (who he also refers to as his Nephew) Chris. Go figure! I didn't think the shows ending was the best in history, but the overall execellence of the series made up for it. A keeper for us.
Contains a lot of nudity, (T&A mostly) sex, drugs, language and a ton of violence.
