This movie was awful. Not because of a bad story or acting, but because they lied about it being the X-Files. Yes it stars Mulder and Sculley, but it could have starred just about any male action star, and the usual brand of hollywood female sidekick. They played down the paranormal aspect (not aspects mind you just one) so much that it almost wasn't there at all. The begining of the movie drags slowly, and more weight is given to the now romantic relationship between Mulder and Sculley, than to the storyline. Like I said not a bad movie, but a lousy X-Files movie. When you watch it just pretend it's Bruce Willis and Sandra Bullock. You'll enjoy it more that way.

I was very disappointed. Being a big fan of the show and waiting over five years to hear from mulder and scully, the movie didn't wow me like I thought it would. There were regular seasons shows that were better than this. I posted this DVD after one viewing!!!

Not as good as the original series, but keeps with the idea of the series.

Not much more than a real long episode of the series instead of a major motion picture. Lacking in the "I want to believe"ability of the show.

Good film but could have been so much better...

I felt the first X-Files movie (_Fight the Future_) was over the top - and _I Want to Believe_ is 'under' the top. Not enough flash to warrant being a theatrical movie. It felt more like a 2 part episode of the original series.
