DVD Synopsis

The Office star Rainn Wilson portrays a drummer named "Fish," who gets a second shot at fame 20 years after getting kicked out of his band on the very night they signed the record contract that made them stars. Fish has spent the past two decades languishing at soul-crushing day jobs while his old bandmates became legends, continuing to grace magazine covers and dominate the radio. He might just get another chance at musical success, however, when his teenage cousin invites him to drum for his high school garage band, and they end up catching the ear of record executives. Now, Fish is determined to live the hedonistic rock & roll lifestyle he missed out on 20 years ago, but his new bandmates don't appreciate his hard partying -- and neither do his middle-aged knees. This Fox Atomic comedy co-stars Christina Applegate. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and Tom McNulty co-produced the feature, which was penned by Wallace Wolodarsky and Maya Forbes, and directed by Peter Cattaneo (Opal Dream). ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Good storyline, I really enjoyed this movie, and have watched it several times.

Despite the very negative review of this movie from another Swap-A-DVD member I requested this DVD and I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by a fun film that had my wife and I chuckling throughout. Is it Oscar material? No, it's not; but if you're a fan of SNL, Rainn Wilson, or most importantly ROCK-AND-ROLL; I have to say that this film is worth a watch.

This was utter poop. I expected so much more. I guess Rainn Wilson can only play one character well. What he does with Dwight Schrute is amazing, but he was terrible in this. Another comedic actor who I once thought great, Will Arnett, appears in this waste-of-celluloid as well. I had so much hope for Will after Arrested Development, but he has really disappointed me in movies like The Brothers Solomon and Blades of Glory (a film in which I was doubly-disappointed because of Jon Heder's failure to successfully expand his comedic breadth). Arnett seems to only be able to play the spoiled rich playboy well (and in that he has no competition; see him basically reprise his genius role as GOB in Let's Go to Prison, RV, and Monster-in-Law). In short, The Rocker rolled over (and died).

This was actually very funny. Reminded me a bit of "School of Rock." My teenage son loved it )he is into rock music)-- fun movie.
