DVD Synopsis

When Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) reluctantly moved to the perpetually overcast town of Forks, WA, and set out to carve a niche for herself, she assumed it would be one similar to the low-profile social position she held back in Phoenix. First on the list of surprises was the unfamiliar attention from the male population of her new high school; second, the attention from one male in particular: Edward Cullen, Vampire (Robert Pattinson). Before long, the unlikely soul mates find themselves in a passionate relationship with a variety of significant setbacks, including Edward's special-needs diet (he doesn't eat humans, but Bella's scent inspires a nearly impossible to harness bloodlust) and the human girl's mortality. Though things proceed relatively smoothly at first (Edward even introduces Bella to his adoptive vampire family), a visiting vampire clan consisting of James (Cam Gigandet), Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), and Laurent (Edi Gathegi) catches Bella's unique scent and threatens the young couple's budding, if dangerous, happiness. James, known for his powerful tracking ability, becomes obsessed with making Bella his next victim. Fearing for Bella's safety and that of her loved ones, the Cullens must combine their collective talents in order to stop the highly predatory James before his goal is accomplished. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

I was also skeptical to see this movie. I figured it would be a movie for teenage girls to swoon over. But I decided to watch it, and by the end of the movie, I felt like one of those teenage girls. I love how there is a distinction between good vampires who are just trying to live amongst people and bad vampires who do the normal vampire acts of blood-sucking. Robert Pattinson plays Edward and does an incredible job. Bella is a lucky girl. Can I have an Edward too, please?

This movie is awesome! The story line is about forbidden love between a mortal girl and a teenage vampire. Really captures the essence of first love. Robert Pattinson does a GREAT portrayal of Edward, a tormented vampire who experiences love for the first time, though Kristen Stewart's acting could have been slightly better...Just my opinion.

I highly recommend reading ALL the novels because it really shows the love Edward and Bella have for one another in more details.

The movie leaves out some very important details from the book but then again what movie adaptation doesn't. I think it is a good movie though and if you like vampires and romance should watch it. I also recommend reading the books. Robert Pattinson is great as Edward and captures the essence of him from the book. The forshadowing is wonderful and at the end of the movie made me wish the other books had already been made into movies as well. Seeing the characters come to life was a treat.

I thought the movie was very good and actually inspired me to read all 4 books in less than 2 weeks. Although a lot of important details were not included in the movie, it was good for what it was. Read the book, if you can.

This was a surprise! I never read the book. It's not the typical bloody vampire movie. This is more of a romance than a horror movie. As someone who is rather sensitive to violence and graphic stuff, this was very mild. It had an awesome story line (totally unexpected) and love story(all the ladies will want to be Bella). I can't wait for the second! It's a must see for all! All the characters are more complex after I read the book. I think I am going to be a Twilight junkie now.

It is a really good movie. It semi-follows the book, but Cathrine Hardwick doesn't know anything about making a good movie. To me, she ruined it. It left out A LOT of detail from the book. Yes I realize that the movie can't have everything from the book, but the movie was only 1:30, it could have been longer and had more detail to it. If you haven't read the book, but have seen the movie, you get the jist of what the book is about. I highly suggest that you read the book after the movie to get the full experience of twilight. New Moon looks like it is going to be the best so far!

This is a really good movie. Sure they got rid of some stuff that was in the book but if you look past that, it's a really sweet movie.
It's really a tale of forbidden love and what girl wouldn't want a love story like that?

Bottom line: good movie.

I loved the book, and had read bad things about the movie, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how much I liked it. Yes, it's different from the book. In some ways I can see why it was, and in some ways I don't understand why the changes were necessary. But overall, it's a really good movie.

Robert Pattinson is great as Edward. Kristen Stewart makes a good Bella (she's ballsy, and I like that), but I did tire of seeing her gawking to the camera by the end of the film. If the lead character was going to spend so much time with their mouth hanging open they should have cast someone with better teeth.

I watched the behind the scenes segment included in the Blu-ray, and I appreciate the fact that people are really doing the stunts and special effects are kept to a minimum. However, I don't agree when that's done at the expense of production value. For example, the running scenes look like the puppets from Team America. Other than that it's slick and cool, great music and cinematography. It's not just a teen movie, Robert Pattinson's performance has me sleeping with my windows open, hoping I'll awake to find my own Edward (much to my husband's chagrin).

I thought this movie drug on a bit. I liked Robert and Kristen. But it was a little slow moving for me and not very deep.
