Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr plays a prehistoric, social outcast who, along with other misfits, forms his own tribe and finds various comic adventures. This spoof is mostly without dialogue besides the expected neanthropic grunt. ~ Kristie Hassen, All Movie Guide

Carl Gottlieb's prehistoric comedy Caveman comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable in every way to the standard full-frame image. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer. This is a fine, inexpensive release from MGM/UA that is certainly worth a look for any Beatlemaniac. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
