After being raised by a normal sized family, tiny Tom Thumb (voiced by Elijah Wood) sets out to find others of his diminutive stature. He happens upon Thumbelina (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a former circus performer, who is not only his size and age, but is also looking for others like her. Children of all ages will delight at the The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina. The film is presented in a fine looking 1.33:1 full frame transfer. While there are a few inconsistencies to be found in this transfer (including a slight amount of edge enhancement), overall the image is solid with bright, bold colors schemes and well saturated black levels. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround mix in English and lacks any real punch. While the dialogue, music and effects have been crisply recorded without any distortion, overall this is a fairly boring sound mix with only the center and front speakers being utilized. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. The extra features for The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina have been kept at the bare minimum -- all that's included on this disc are a theatrical trailers for the films Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, Pinocchio, Return to Neverland, The Rookie Mickey's House of Villains, and Air Bud: 7th Inning Fetch, plus a "Skip to a Sing-a-Long" feature that takes you directly to a specific song in the film. ~ Patrick Naugle, All Movie Guide
