Chevy Chase stars as Andy Farmer, a sportswriter who moves with his schoolteacher wife Elizabeth (Madolyn Smith) to the country in order to write a novel in relative seclusion. Of course, seclusion is the last thing the Farmers find in the small, eccentric town, where disaster awaits them at every turn. Chevy Chase stars in the downhome comedy Funny Farm. Warner's work on this transfer is only a measly 1.33:1 full-frame transfer which sports all the inconsistencies associated with a pan-and-scan disc. While the colors are mostly solid and the black levels well saturated, overall the image retains a soft, hazy feel that will disappoint most fans of the film. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English and French. This is a very mediocre soundtrack that features little-to-no directional effects and a small amount of distortion in the dialogue during a few key scenes. English subtitles are also included on this disc.
