DVD Synopsis
A hired killer (Kristy Swanson) joins forces with one of her targets after seeing him with his son, but while this saves one man's life, it also means the one-time killer is now a hunted woman, with operatives of a classified government agency hot on her trail. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
Though Supreme Sanction doesn't have much going for it as a film, the DVD does fare a little better. The picture quality on this disc is exceptional as is often the case with Sterling titles. The film is framed at 1.85:1 and, in a wise move, uses an anamorphic transfer. There is no doubt that it adds to the overall image. This disc has a four-channel surround soundtrack. Viewers of this disc, if using Dolby Digital, need to turn off the digital tuner and change it to Dolby Pro-Logic to get anything beyond a two-channel track. There is some surround material, but it's very minimal. It's a good soundtrack with the dialogue square in the middle, but it lacks creativity. This disc only has Spanish subtitles. Extra material is a bit misleading. The audio commentary track is a joke and hardly worthwhile. Director John Terlesky and actor Michael Madsen do more laughing at each other than talking about the making of the film. It becomes tiring very fast and is arguably one of the worst commentary tracks produced. On the whole, this is a far more satisfying disc than a movie. ~ Trent Fordham, All Movie Guide
