DVD Synopsis

A man comes face to face with the rage he didn't know he had in this comedy. Dave Buznick (Adam Sandler) is an even-tempered businessman who, after a series of strange misunderstandings on an airline flight, finds himself accused of air rage. A judge sentences Dave to undergo anger management therapy, and he soon finds himself in the care of Dr. Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson), a celebrated therapist. However, Dave's group therapy sessions with a handful of truly disturbed individuals -- among them jumpy ex-con Chuck (John Turturro), obsessive sports fan Nate (Jonathan Loughran), slow-burning Lou (Luis Guzman), egocentric Andrew (Allen Covert), and bisexual porn stars Gina and Stacy (Krista Allen and January Jones) -- leave him far more unsettled than when he arrived. Later, when Buddy decides to move into Dave's home for intensive therapy, he soon discovers Buddy has more than a bit of his own anger to resolve, and that no one brings out Dave's deeply buried inner rage quite like Buddy. Anger Management also stars Marisa Tomei as Dave's girlfriend, Linda; in addition, the film features a number of notable actors in cameos, including Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly, Ray Liotta, Heather Graham, and Harry Dean Stanton. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Editorial Review of DVD

Sure to be the success on DVD as it was in theaters, Anger Management presents an overall package that is sure to please. The 2.40:1 anamorphic transfer is up the usual standards, though, at times, some digital shimmering is present. Colors are strong as are the darker scenes, which hold up nicely. As is often the case now, a cut-up, pan-and-scan version is also available separately. As with most comedies, the 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track is centered up front, and doesn't utilize the surrounds in any measurable way; the dialogue is clear and clean throughout. Supplements include a scene-specific commentary from director Peter Segal and star Adam Sandler. Although hardly the most informative track, these two do contribute some amusing anecdotes and plenty of joking with each other. Also included are two featurettes, starting with a brief and bland four-minute cast and crew salute to co-star Jack Nicholson. It doesn't amount to much, but the other one, at 18 minutes, is worth watching. Entitled "Skull Session," this piece isn't much more than studio fluff, but still delivers some fine interviews and location footage. Next up are four deleted scenes which are surprisingly good and could easily have remained in the film. Five minutes of cast bloopers are a real highlight of the extras, in particular those of Heather Graham and her chocolate issues. Finally, along with a relatively entertaining "test" to determine if you need anger management sessions, are numerous trailers, including one for this film, Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights, S.W.A.T., Mona Lisa Smile, Radio, and Peter Pan, along with a few others. ~ Trent Fordham, All Movie Guide

This is a VERY funny movie, which I have watched several times. Any one who likes Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler will love this comedy. Jack Nicholson is once again, playing a crazy character and does it as only he can do it.
