In this fictionalized account based on true figures, a foursome of young thugs decides to team up and take control of New York's east side from the aging bosses who control it. This retro-styled crime drama gets a solid presentation for its release on DVD. Mobsters has been given a letterboxed transfer at its original widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English-language soundtrack has been mastered in Dolby Digital Surround, as are alternate dubbed tracks in Spanish and French; the disc also carries optional subtitles in English.
