The
Munchies are back, munching their way to DVD thanks to New Concorde and rabid
Munchies fans everywhere. With a 1.33:1 full-frame picture and lone stereo track, the film looks and sounds like the best video copy you've seen on the racks -- which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A flick of this caliber has been known to work better this way, whether it has a Digitally Mastered stamp on it or not (this one does). Bonus features include the brilliant theatrical trailer, along with a strange collection of trailers from the White Wolf film series:
White Wolves: A Cry in the Wild II, White Wolves 2: Legend of the Wild, and White Wolves 3: Cry of the White Wolf (note the hilarious repeated "action" footage in each one). With the extra bonus of those trailers, mixed with the fact that they even bothered to track down the
Munchies one in the first place, this cheap disc does it all, even if it doesn't necessarily give it all. With the original poster art intact, New Concorde has issued a cheap, but still fun, DVD that should heat up retailers' value bins everywhere. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
