Danny DeVito's grand-scale screen biography of former Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa has been given a appropriately beefed-up presentation of its DVD release. Hoffa has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1, which has also been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English-language audio track has been mixed for playback in Dolby Digital 5.1, while alternate Spanish and French tracks are in Dolby Digital Stereo. This edition also features optional subtitles in English and Spanish. A wealth of bonus materials have been added for this release, including a commentary track from Danny DeVito, a collection of deleted scenes, newsreel footage of the real Jimmy Hoffa, interviews with Hoffa's colleagues from the Teamsters Union, a look at the film's storyboards, footage of the cast's initial read-through of the script, excepts from the screenplay, Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel's televised reviews of the picture, and more. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
