Dark Angel-lead Jessica Alba stars in the title role of this film, the feature debut from music-video director Bille Woodruff. Honey is a girl from the streets who works in a record store, teaches the occasional dance class at a community center, and treks downtown every weekend to hit the clubs and try out some new moves. There, she meets a music video producer (David Moscow) who offers her a chance to be a choreographer -- but at a price she eventually learns she's unwilling to pay. Determined to pick herself back up, Honey goes back to the inner-city of her youth with plans of starting a dance school. Jessica Alba stars in this musical drama about a young woman struggling to make her dreams of becoming a dancer come true, which arrives on DVD with all the trimmings. This version of Honey has been given a pan-and-scan full-screen transfer to disc in the aspect ratio of 1.33:1. (A letterboxed widescreen edition is also available.) The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1; in addition to the original English-language soundtrack, alternate tracks in Spanish and French are included, as well as subtitles in French and Spanish. A variety of bonus materials have been included with this release, such as a commentary track from director Bille Woodruff and star Jessica Alba, deleted scenes and outtakes, music videos from Jadakiss and Sheek, Shawn Desman, and Blaque, short documentaries of the making of Honey and Blaque's video, and a lesson on how to do the dance moves seen in the movie. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
