John Sayles' Casa de los Babys tells the tale of a half-dozen American women who travel to Latin America in order to pick up their adopted children. They all stay at the same motel while they each wade through the bureaucracy. Sharing with each other their fears, hopes, dreams, and frustrations at the thoughts of becoming mothers comprises the majority of the drama in the film. John Sayles directs a superb cast in this drama about six American women attempting to adopt children in Latin America, which arrives on DVD in a respectful fashion. Casa de los Babys has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Surround; the dialogue is primarily in English with some Spanish, and optional subtitles in English and Spanish are included.
