Bart Freundlich directs Catch That Kid, a Fox-financed U.S. remake of the Danish family action film Klatretøsen (2002). Adventurous 12-year-old Maddy Phillips (Kristen Stewart) is an excellent mountain climber. Unfortunately, her father, Tom (Sam Robards), was severely injured on Mount Everest and requires a costly surgery to repair his spine. With the help of her friends (Max Thieriot and Corbin Bleu) and her climbing skills, Maddy develops a plan to rob a bank in order to finance her father's medical bills. Panic Room's Kristen Stewart heads up the cast of this family-oriented adventure about a trio of gifted kids who attempt to pull of a bank heist. Directed by Bart Freundlich, Catch That Kid features supporting performances by grown-up actors Jennifer Beals and James LeGros and comes to DVD with this above-average release. The disc includes both widescreen and full-screen transfers of the film, allowing viewers to decide for themselves if they want to see the original aspect ratio or a modified version designed to fit a standard television. The original English soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, and there are dubbed tracks in French and Spanish as well as subtitles in English and Spanish.
