Re-teaming Adam Sandler with Drew Barrymore, his co-star from The Wedding Singer, as well as Peter Segal, his director on Anger Management, Fifty First Dates finds the funnyman playing veterinarian Henry Roth. More than content with a life of one-night-stands, Henry decides to give up his noncommittal lifestyle when he meets and falls for Lucy (Barrymore). However, when he discovers that Lucy has no short term memory, Henry finds himself having to win her heart again with every new day. Sean Astin and Rob Schneider also star. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide
Peter Segal directs Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in the fine romantic comedy 50 First Dates. The film is presented in a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. The image on the disc compromises much of the beautiful imagery captured by cinematographer Jack Green. English and French soundtracks are written in Dolby Digital 5.1. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track written by Segal and Barrymore. This is an entertaining track mostly because the two of them are very loquacious and obviously enjoy each other's company. Those who are charmed by Barrymore's public persona will not be disappointed. Deleted scenes with optional commentary, a blooper reel, and a smattering of featurettes round out this disc. This DVD is fine for what it is, but the same features are available on a different disc that also offers a widescreen version of the film. That edition is preferable to this one. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

Even for those who do not like Sandler for Barrymore will have to admit this is a unique take on a love story. Rather than going the easy way out... its refreshing to see a movie that dares to be un-hollywood at the end of the movie. Despite the usual slapstick gags present in the previews, its actually a very touching movie that has great on screen chemistry. All the characters in the movie are unique and enjoyable without being over the top. Good date movie... that should please both guys and girls alike. Don't skip this one!

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore together, again. This romantic comedy is as delightful as The Wedding Singer. Very enjoyable and a big thumbs up to Adam Sandler who does well with a comedic and serious side in this movie. Great ending that's a bit unexpected but I was pleased. I would definitely recommend this movie for a date flick.

I truly loved this movie, probably my favorite of all the
Adam Sandler movies, and Drew Barrymore is fantastic, as always.

Nice movie - very interesting concept - loss of short term memory. Funny for young adults and more mature audiences.
