DVD Synopsis
George Armitage directs this big-screen adaptation of Elmore Leonard's The Big Bounce. Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) is an occasional thief who tends to a judge (Morgan Freeman). A woman involved with Ray Ritchie (Gary Sinese), a real estate developer of questionable ethics, seduces Jack. Ritchie and the judge are old enemies, complicating Jack's moral dilemma when the girls asks Jack to help her double-cross Ritchie. The book was adapted once before with Ryan O'Neal in the Owen Wilson role. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
George Armitage directs Owen Wilson in the Elmore Leonard adaptation The Big Bounce, which makes its debut on DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the movie's original theatrical aspect ratio. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a run-of-the-mill 12-minute behind-the-scenes featurette, a pair of short films about surfing, and the theatrical trailer. This disc is fine for what it is, but a widescreen version that is preferable to this edition is also available. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

One of the best B movies out there. Jack Ryan (owen wilson) is the perfect con, but he gets taken for the fool, then gets lucky and figures it out. Good twists in the plot to keep you guessing who is the real villian here.
