My husband loves this movie! Typical Chevy Chase (SNL characters) slap stick movie. We laugh every time we watch this classic movie.

Silly yet endearing comedy starring Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short as the silent movie team The Three Amigos. After getting fired from their studio, they accept an invitation to make what they think is a personal appearance in Mexico, only to find out that they've been hired to actually rid a village of the bandit that's been raiding it. I don't know how anyone could dislike this movie; it's no ALL ABOUT EVE or SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS, but it's a lot of fun. The film features some great songs from Randy Newman (my favorite is "Blue Shadows") and a score from Elmer Bernstein that evokes his scores for both THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN and STRIPES. Featuring Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, and a plethora of pinatas. One caveat: the DVD from HBO Home Video is atrocious, featuring a great deal of gate float (where the entire image wavers horizontally) and end credits that cut off and go back to the main menu before they're finished. This is a DVD crying to be remastered, preferably with commentary by John Landis, Randy Newman, Lorne Michaels, and the stars.
