DVD Synopsis
Wrongly burned at the stake as a result of her father's betrayal, a pious 15th century girl makes a deal with the devil in this dark animated fantasy from director Andrew Orjuela. Reluctantly accepting the Prince of Darkness' offer of spending eternity in Hell over an unimaginably painful death, Hope is crushed to learn her true origins and discover the grim fate of her mother and devoted lost love. When Lucifer realizes that Hope's soul is incorruptible, he banishes her to the deepest depths of the netherworld, where she attempts to free the souls of her loved ones. Soon joining forces with the outcast Cremator as well as Vassago and the Nameless Wolves, Hope transforms into the fearsome Lady Death and returns to the gates of Hell to do battle with The Lord of the Flies himself. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
Editorial Review of DVD
Betrayed on Earth by her father and banished to the deepest depths of Hell after Lucifer is unable to corrupt her soul, young Hope must find the strength to transform into the dreaded Lady Death if she is to free the souls of the ones she loves and wrestle the reigns of the underworld from the Lord of the Flies in this supernaturally charged release from ADV Films. The feature is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, and accompanying audio is offered in English Dolby Digital 5.1 with optional English subtitles. Once viewers have followed Hope on her dark quest, they can access such extras as a "Visions of Hell" featurette in which the makers detail the evolution of character and set design, and an "Animating Death" containing interviews with the animation production team. A director's commentary track is also available, as is an ADV trailer gallery. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This is the story of Lady Death, a young girl who has to become the incarnation of Death to defeat her evil father in a medieval kingdom, who is really Lucifer. This story differs pretty wildly from the comic book of the same title by Chaos comics. The acting is pretty weak and the animation is cheap to say the least. But if you just have to have everything Lady Death, get it.
