In this memorable Hallmark release, Glenn Close headlines this touching trilogy of films concerning a New England schoolteacher who travels to a small Midwestern town in 1910 to help a Midwestern widower raise his children. Presented in standard 1.33:1 full-screen and featuring a closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Stereo soundtrack, this release also features optional English subtitles. Extra features includes interviews with Close and director Glenn Jordan, production notes, and cast and crew information. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This is a classic movie. Glen Close for once is not a "bad guy" but plays a very plain yet big-hearted woman who helps fix a broken family.
This movie does have some dramatic scenes that might frighten or confuse young kids (a birthing scene and a storm which wrecks the farm), but all in all it is a good family film. I highly recommend it.
