To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, the show mounted a close to three-hour retrospective. This DVD captures that primetime special. The disc contains a standard full-frame image that replicates the original broadcast aspect ratio. A closed-captioned soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles on this release. In addition to the show itself, the disc contains a look back at the show as done by The Today Show, a piece from Access Hollywood concerning the anniversary, and an interview by Tim Russert of the show's executive producer Lorne Michaels. Musical performances from Al Green, the Eurythmics, and Elvis Costello with the Beastie Boys punctuate the comedy.
