DVD Synopsis
After a big-time country singer (Dolly Parton) brags that she can turn anybody in to a country-singin' star, she's out to prove she can live up to her talk when she recruits a cab-driver (Sylvester Stallone) as a country singer. He's scheduled to sing at a big-time NYC country night club and Dolly puts her ample powers to work in preparing her protege. ~ All Movie Guide
Bob Clark's comedy about a cab driver-turned-country music performer, Rhinestone will be remembered by pop-culture junkies as the only pairing of Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton. Those junkies can enjoy the film over and over again with this disc that presents the movie in a widescreen anamorphic transfer preserving the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. The only substantial extra is the film's original theatrical trailer. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

Most people hate this movie but I think it's funny. I don't watch it often but there are lot of funny one-liners, like when Dolly Parton is teaching Stallone to walk like a cowboy she says "you need to bounce when you walk, more bounce" and Stallone says "look who's talking!" Even the songs are catchy and Stallones sings pretty good, not great but I was surprised at how well he can sing. It's worth a giggle and the movie actually has a storyline to follow.
