Who could guess that Santa would know so much about winter animals? In this delightful National Geographic video, he answers the questions kids may have been wondering about: Do penguins live at the North Pole? Where do polar bears go in winter? How do beluga whales sing? Viewers will also see classic wildlife footage of otters at play, walruses eating clams, and real reindeer migrating. In keeping with the Christmas theme, winter-animal themes are set to traditional carols -- "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" becomes "A Panda in a Tall Tree" -- and swimming birds called mers propel themselves deep into icy waters accompanied by "The Nutcracker Suite". The whole family will want to sing along with the otters, reindeer, and pandas as they get into the holiday spirit. ~ Gayla Mills, All Movie Guide

This DVD was totally cute. Though it was probably geared more towards children, I still loved the animal antics and the story line. Mrs. Santa Claus is narrating what she and Santa are doing in the days before Christmas, decorating the tree, reading letters from children, and answering questions about animals. Most of the footage is of animals that live in the Artic and Antartica areas and some scenes are hilarious. I think kids of all ages will truly enjoy this National Geographic film.
