An astronaut doctor and his fellow space traveler return to planet Earth after an extended mission only to find that the human population has been enslaved by a race of evil aliens in director Josh Becker's kitchy tale of terror from the skies. Ivan Hood (Bruce Campbell) and his partner, Kelly (Renee O' Connor), have been away on a mission in deep space for 40 years. For those who know, whenever Bruce Campbell is involved with a DVD, it's a sure bet that the disc will be worth it. That is the case with Alien Apocalypse, which features Bruce fighting wicked CG bug creatures in the name of all that is good in made-for-SciFi Channel land. With longtime buddy Josh Becker at the helm, the flick is a fun little treat, but even better is the disc. Featuring the two hamming it up on a commentary track, the disc's points go up right there. What's always amazing is how these tracks can be both informative and full of laid-back banter. With a funny behind-the-scenes featurette and a packed storyboard gallery to boot, this disc is a small little nugget of gold that will attract many of the B-movie actor's hardcore fans. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
