DVD Synopsis

In this spooky horror outing aimed at teen audiences, the innocent new girl in town tries to become friends with a rough but cool crowd. They are all pretty mean, especially the young woman who is mad that the girl stole her boyfriend, and they decide that the girl must survive an ordeal before they let her join their gang. They send her to a funeral home to spend the night by herself. I have fond memories of my mom taking me to see this movie in theaters way back when I was 9 years old...and that was the last time I saw this movie for a LOOOONG time, it seemed to genuinely dissappear. This movie wasn't available on VHS, much less DVD for a LONG time, so big up to Shriek Show for digging this one out of the "grave" **shutter**...but I tell ya what, it spooked the heck out of me then & still manages to give me the willies now! Its the 'ol cliche "ya gotta stay in this spooky Mausoleum overnight" & then crazy things really start to happen horror movie!

This DVD has 2 cuts of the film, the theatrical cut & the original "A Night In The Crypt" cut...which is of very poor quality, but still nice to see a rough director's cut of the movie (complete with different ending). Definitely a shelf keeper for me!!

A note that may turn off the GORE hounds: the movie is PG...there's NO blood, gore or sex (that I can recall at the moment), but its definitely atmospheric & scary...good "starter" horror movie for the kiddies.

This is one of those scare-you-to-death-classics... I saw it late one night when I was about 8-9. And boy did it ever put the fear into me; I guess that's the reason I still adore this 80's PG rated horror.
