I have fond memories of my mom taking me to see this movie in theaters way back when I was 9 years old...and that was the last time I saw this movie for a LOOOONG time, it seemed to genuinely dissappear. This movie wasn't available on VHS, much less DVD for a LONG time, so big up to Shriek Show for digging this one out of the "grave" **shutter**...but I tell ya what, it spooked the heck out of me then & still manages to give me the willies now! Its the 'ol cliche "ya gotta stay in this spooky Mausoleum overnight" & then crazy things really start to happen horror movie!
This DVD has 2 cuts of the film, the theatrical cut & the original "A Night In The Crypt" cut...which is of very poor quality, but still nice to see a rough director's cut of the movie (complete with different ending). Definitely a shelf keeper for me!!
A note that may turn off the GORE hounds: the movie is PG...there's NO blood, gore or sex (that I can recall at the moment), but its definitely atmospheric & scary...good "starter" horror movie for the kiddies.

This is one of those scare-you-to-death-classics... I saw it late one night when I was about 8-9. And boy did it ever put the fear into me; I guess that's the reason I still adore this 80's PG rated horror.
