DVD Synopsis

Geoff Murphy directed this time-travel chase movie. Emilio Estevez stars as Alex Furlong, a racecar driver from 1991, who is just about to experience a deadly crash in his Formula Atlantic. But at the last moment Alex finds himself transported to the streets of New York in 2009. He is saved from certain death and zapped into the future by 21st-century bounty hunter Vacendak (Mick Jagger), who wants to take over Alex's body. Alex escapes Vacendak's clutches and decides to look up an old girlfriend. When he locates Julie (Rene Russo), he enlists her support to help him from being captured by Vacendak. Much to Alex's surprise, he discovers that Julie now works as a top executive for a giant corporation presided over by McCandless (Anthony Hopkins). Julie, separated from Alex for almost twenty years, must decide whether to renew their relationship. But there is not much time for thought by either party, since Vacendak is still coming after Alex. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Editorial Review of DVD

A stellar cast headlines this frenetic sci-fi thriller in the cyberpunk vein of Johnny Mnemonic (1995), arriving on DVD from Warner Home Video. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) and accompanied by a choice of closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or French Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks, the disc also features optional subtitles in English, Spanish, or French. Extra features include cast filmographies, an original theatrical trailer, and animated interactive menu selection screens. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Anthony Hopkins and Renne Russo were excellent in this movie. I have never seen Mick Jagger act before so it is hard to judge, I liked his character. This movie was unique, awesome special effects. The greatest cars, It is set in the year 2009 and we dont have those terrific cars yet. I hate to give this movie up cause I would watch this one again and again. Rated R but not as graphic as some movies, most of the blood isnt red, but more of a dark stain. A few F words that automatically make it R. I was borderline on letting my under 13 kids watch it and I dont let my under 17 watch R so it is mild in my opinion. I did decide they couldnt watch it due to the R rating.
