DVD Synopsis

Two guys find out the hard way that sneaking into the wrong party can cause serious problems in this comedy. Jeremy Klein (Vince Vaughn) and John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) are a pair of longtime friends who work for a law firm, helping contentious couples mediate their divorces. Their job has given them a cynical attitude about marriage, and as a hobby each weekend the two make a point of crashing weddings reception, where they load up on free food and booze and try their luck at seducing the bridesmaids. When William Cleary (Christopher Walken), the nation's Secretary of the Treasury and a possible candidate for the Presidency, announces his daughter is to wed, the nuptials are billed as the social event of the year, and Jeremy and John decide they must attend the reception. However, John makes the mistake of falling head over heels for Claire (Rachel McAdams), the bride's sister, while Jeremy attracts the attentions of a woman he'd prefer not to be involved with, and soon their romantic peccadilloes get them in very hot water. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

I thought this was an original idea. There are some great cameo scenes. I sometimes cringed at the foul mouth on Vince Vaughn's Character. It was a romantic comedy that my husband liked a great deal. He thought it was a keeper.

Funny and crude, predictable but enjoyable tale of two man-boys who eventually grow up....sort of. So-so bonus features don't add much to the DVD. Beautiul setting in suburbs of D.C. Jane Seymour plays a cougar and the seemingly omnipresent Christopher Walken is her Secretary of the Treasury hubbie. "Shopaholic's" Isla Fischer, in her first big role as Vince Vaughn's love interest, is hilarious.

Wedding Crashers is about two friends that have become experts in the art of crashing weddings and picking up women. Every wedding season they go around to different weddings and live it up. At one of these weddings they run into a series of humorous events as they meet two women and their family gives them a run for their money.
It's a crude humor comedy and I usually hate crude humor. But I like this comedy. Like a lot of the vulgar comedies out there this movie has a lot of swearing but the swearing is not in every single sentence of dialogue which seems to be the downfall in my eyes to other vulgar comedies like Superbad. Wedding Crashers could have easily been a 4/5 star movie but it lost some of its humor in the last 30 minutes when it tried to take a change to a more serious comedy to wrap the movie up to a happy ending. Vince Vaughn did a fantastic job and most of the belly laugh moments of the movie are the scenes that he is in. Owen Wilson did pretty good but played the same role he does in just about every movie. I swear, Owen is quickly becoming the Keanu Reeves of this decade. He plays the same part regardless of what type of movie he is in.
