Modern-day pirates and a disaster at sea set the stage for this action drama. The sister ship of the Titanic has been refurbished and restored to service for a final cruise, and a number of wealthy celebrities and socialites are on board for the occasion, including film star Gloria (Erika Eleniak) and her bodyguard Aaron (Dylan Walsh). However, Josef (Ice-T), a daring and ruthless thief, sees a golden opportunity and invades the ship with a crew of henchman, intending to steal the many valuables on board. An explosion tears into the ship while Josef and his men are looting the cabins, and it falls to Aaron to capture Josef and his men before the ship meets its fate at the bottom of the ocean. Set a course for terror with Final Voyage. The Artisan film is presented in a 1.33:1 full-frame transfer and looks passable, if very unimpressive. While the colors and black levels are all fairly solid, overall, the picture retains a softness that often crops up in full frame transfers. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, both in English. The Dolby 5.1 mix is adequate with some directional sounds filtering through both the front and rear speakers. While the mix isn't anything overly impressive, it is clear of any excessive hiss or distortion. No alternate subtitles or soundtracks are included on this disc. The extra features on this disc include a very funny commentary track by director Jay Andrews and actress Claudia Christian (both poking fun at the film and how silly it is), as well as a theatrical trailer for the film and some cast and crew information. ~ Patrick Naugle, All Movie Guide
