DVD Synopsis
Five prisoners of war escape captivity in a Confederate prison camp only to land in an uncharted Pacific island where time stands still and dastardly pirates don't take kindly to strangers in director Russell Mulcahy's screen adaptation of fantasy author Jules Verne's literary classic. Well, it is not exactly a masterpiece. It is definitely a "B" movie. But I enjoyed it. I liked seeing Patrick Stewart! :) And the storyline was not that bad.The CG is pathetic, but if you can ignore that the action does move along at a good pace. The romance is mild nothing too exciting or believable there. The pirates look like they got their costumes from a Halloween store. Pretty faked looking, as are the props.
All that aside, if you like B movies, Like adventure stories, And like shows about giant bugs... It is worth the credit to see it once.
