I realize this is a couple of days old, but the Help Center specifically states that if the DVDs play, to *not* mark RWaP. (I realize in this case they did not!)... Do we have info from the Team indicating that it's correct to mark RWaP for damaged artwork? I realize these things do get posted in the forums but the HC doesn't always get updated.
From the HC: (info from: There is a problem w/ a DVD I received):
Damaged by Sender This means the DVD was not playable when it arrived, and the damage was not attributable to USPS damage en routeDo NOT mark a DVD "Damaged by Sender" if the DVD is playable. Use the comments box when marking the DVD received to describe any damage that does not render the DVD unplayable.
Damaged by USPS This means the DVD was damaged en route, either through bad luck or due to inadeqate wrapping technique This includes DVDs that appear to have been poorly packaged for mailing by the sender.Do NOT mark a DVD "Damaged by USPS" if the DVD is playable. Use the comments box when marking the DVD received to describe any damage that does not render the DVD unplayable

How many movies do you see on your WL? I just checked another member and saw 159, so it's not a site issue. |

I realize there is some debate over WL Bundling and what is and is not allowed. However, requiring an order from your tower is very specifically *not* allowed per the Rules for this forum:
**Postable Wish Listed DVDs/Blu-rays cannot be offered as incentives for ordering DVDs/Blu-rays from your Tower. Postable Wish Listed DVDs/Blu-rays should be entered into the general system with no strings attached. This is a rule.*** |

Ok, I admit I skimmed a little, but I believe one basic thing has been overlooked here. The thread at PBS was directly and specifically authorized by TPTB. Was this thread assumed to be OK (that's what i'm getting) or specifically authorized? If not authorized, it's not OK.
I'll admit I do bundles quite often...why? Why is irrelevent since it's not "occasional" and TPTB have said that only occasional bundling is acceptable.
Unless you are only sending out single disc movies, the saving postage angle doesn't really fly the way it does at PBS. I just mailed out a DVD this morning for $1.90. There are very few books that mail for that and, unless and audiobook (which would almost never go for $1.90) it's only 1 credit. Needing to bundle multi-disc sets is really just greed, frankly, I hope TPTB put an end to it. We will, of course, have to wait and see. |

At the risk of (virtual) tomatoes thrown in my direction, I'll say that I don't really see what the big deal is. No tomatoes, virtual or otherwise, ;-), here. , I disagree that it's not a big deal, though. Anytime something is being bundled you are holding the WL DVD hostage. That's just reality. At least when it's all WL DVDs then the ones not really wanted can be turned around right away and the credits recouped. Some people DO order stuff they don't really want ot get the WL DVD they do want, and then they are stuck w/ those items until they are eventually ordered. That's essentially paying extra to get the WL DVD. I do realize that technically they got 1 disc per credit (I realize Blu Ray are 2 credits, not making the distinction for this purpose), but they still used extra Credits to get 1 they wanted. I suspect it's a matter of interpretation and opinion, and it's fine that not everyone sees it the same way. Of course, none of us get the final say, lol. |

Hi all! I don't post here very often, but I do wander through looking at the deals! Today I happened to be reading the Red Sticky Thread and saw this rule: ***Postable Wish Listed DVDs cannot be offered as incentives for ordering DVDs from your Tower. Postable Wish Listed DVDs should be entered into the general system with no strings attached. This is a rule. **** Now, I don't remember seeing this before but, as I said, I don't post here much so thought maybe I had forgotten. I did ask a more regular poster if it had always been there and I just didn't remember...the other poster didn't remember it, either. So, we rather agreed that maybe it should be pointed out since a lot of people might not realize it is no longer OK use Postable WL DVDs to get orders from our towers. :-) |

Yes, since you never received any DVD, don't mark anything at all. If things move quickly, you might still get the DVD before it ever goes Lost, then you can mark it as normal. If it does go Lost, you can mark it Received from your Transaction Archive. |
