List your favorites here!  I'm always looking for good resources to add to our unit studies. :D

I have Pirates of the High Seas in my tower. It is a docu-drama about famous pirates--Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Mary Reed, etc..

I wish the Bill Nye The Science Guy DVDs weren't so much.  They're only available in a full set for over $1,000.

Oooh, Bill Nye is so COOL!  We are collecting Magic School Bus DVD's and the American Girl movies.  My daughter gets to watch the American Girl movie AFTER she reads the books.... it's her motivation to keep reading LOL!  I hope she starts loving reading soon!

Hey Alex, I found Bill Nye on VHS for reasonable prices at half.com.  Still pricey, but not out of reach.

LOVE Magic School Bus. I work in a preschool and one of our troublemakers last year was at home shaking his hand. His mom asked what he was doing, and he said it'd fallen asleep so that meant the blood wasn't flowing to it right, so he was trying to get the blood to flow to it better. Yeah, he learned that from MSB. LOL (We watched it when they culdn't go out for recess several days in a row...sanity saver!)

And who could forget Schoolhouse Rock???

My son really loved the Magic School Bus series too!

Eye Witness makes some great educational dvds but I haven't seen any here yet.  We got those from the library.

I agree The Magic School Bus is excellent for kids to learn science, my kids have seen all the episodes several times because we were able to tivo them off direct-tv so we don't own any of the dvds.

I have Alexander the Great listed in my tower.  Lots of history etc to discuss.

King Arthur and Ben Hur are other movies we have used to discuss history and life in those times as well as geography.

I just listed 5 of "the big" series on the VHS forum, in case anyone is seeking those.  :)  (Asking 1 credit for all 5)

Cyberchase - as a 6th grade math teacher, it's a great supplement :) I also picked up a Standard Deviants DVD here, but it doesn't seem to be quite as engaging as I thought it would be.

My son LOVES Standard Deviants - we've rec'd about 7 DVD's here.

*However*, on Cosmeo & United Streaming, there are 100's of Standard Deviants videos - same with Bill Nye.  We LOVE Cosmeo and have been subscribers for over 3 years.  It is *well* worth the money.

I found a website that rents Bill Nye DVDs among many other educational DVDs.  It is www.aplusvideorentals.com  .  They are too expensive for us to buy, but we love renting them!
