So what classic SF movie(s) would you choose as your favorite?

I'd go with Forbidden Planet - great effects for the time, plus classic characters.  or THEM! though it is a bit corny at times, it certainly entertains!

woo hoo - first topic in the forum!  lol

Was that a movie?  I recall the Twilight Zone episode (or maybe Outer Limits) but I didn't know it was a movie too!

THEM! Is that the one with Rowdy Roddy Piper? Where the aliens could be identified wearing special sunglasses? I remember watching that years ago. Yes, very corny, but I did enjoy it!

EDIT: OK, I just looked it up. They Live is the movie I'm thinking about. I haven't seen Them!, I'll have to check it out at some point.

Would Mysterious Island be considered sci-fi? The 1960's version. I loved that one.

I love all the movies you've mentioned, so far.  Except Eraserhead, because I haven't seen that one yet.

I love so many classic SF movies.  Two, out of many favorites -  When Worlds Collide, and The Blob (1958).

Them!  I like that movie, too.  Enemy Mine, and The Last Starfighter are two of my favorites, as well.

Leapus - was that the movie with the stampeding, giant rabbits?

I like LIttle Shop of Horrors with Jack Nicholson (young!)  also anything with Vincent Price. I LOVE his voice when he's being creepy.

I first saw Vincent Price in "The House of Wax", and "The Tingler", on television when I was young.  I remember being extremely impressed (and, impressionable) with "The Tingler".  Wow.  Vincent Price imploring everyone to scream.  So, I did.  I got in trouble for screaming, even though I explained that Vincent Price said to scream.  :)

Silversky - lol The Name of the Movie with Giant Rabbits was " Night of the Leapus " so you were very close.

It's an interesting dystopian/utopian future flick with Sean Connery running around half naked for half of the film. It's a thought provoking concept film that actually holds up fairly well production-wise 30 years later, although it lacks the action pacing of modern films.

About a small rural community of people something like Amish - but with an other worldly twist.  Stars Wm Shatner and Kim Darby.  I have a VHS copy that's been spliced too many times, has anyone seen a DVD of this?  It's doesn't come up in the search data base of SwapaDVD.

Help!
