I'm having serious problems with my post office. This year they lost 3 of my packages (tracking info always shows a delivery time between 9:45 AM and 9:55 AM, but my postal carrier comes mid afternoon). Seems like they ocassionally get my house confused with one on the morning round, and the receiver(s) is keeping mum about the errors. USPS customer reps just shrug their shoulders and say they'll "investigate". It happened today for the first time with a swapadvd package. I'd like to forgo the credit refund since the dvd was sent in good faith, but still be put #1 on the WL line. Is this possible? Also, I don't want to look like a good trader going rogue for free credits since I had to rwap a damaged art dvd earlier this week (you might remember the thread Cracked Cases). I rarely rwap. Mike if you don't get the DVD the system marks it as LOST after 21 days. You RWAP when the disc is damaged/ unplayable or wrong DVD/ UPC. Lost or RWAP you go back to your place on the WL.

Are you saying DC says it was delivered to you but you did not receive the DVD?........ If so, it might get to you in a few days.

I'm getting 2 sets of info from swapadvd and usps. Here is what swapadvd says:
7/7/2012 8:05 AM Arrival at Unit USPS website says:
Arrival at Post Office July 7, 2012, 7:05 AM
The Usps website seems more clear. The postman forgot to give me my dvd. He came at 3:30pm and only left a Big Y circular. Figures. I'll probably get it Monday. Since packaged hasn't been scanned for delivery, I assume it's still on his truck

Okay, out for delivery sounds promising, maybe you will get it on Monday. It's only happened once where DC said delivered to me but I got it the next day. The person who sent me the DVD also pm'ed asking (which felt like demanding) me to mark it received. I refrained from saying "Chill out Dude, I don't have the DVD yet".

Valerie, I send out a note 2 days after USPS says they have delivered a package in order to help people. This way they know (some have very busy lifestyles) that according to USPS it has been delivered. I started sending this since many on SACD and SAD have stated no package when marked delivered. It's not for my credits for I use SAD DC and get them either way, but to not disappoint the person in thinking I never sent the item. This is what my message says, I hope that it isn't coming off too demanding:
hi (insert user name here), |

It always bugs me when people send me a message telling me it was delivered a day or so ago.... most of us like to watch and verify the dvd works before marking it received. |

Andrea, you sending a note 2 days after USPS says they have delivered a package, seems A OK to me. Your note is informative and polite. The message I got maybe within hours of DC saying it was delivered. I did not get the package that day. Even if I did get it that day, I think they were rushing me. I got it the next day, looked at the disc and marked it received. Months later when I watched it, it froze few scenes into the movie! I think I would like the 2 days that you give people before messaging them. Last Edited on: 7/8/12 6:30 PM EST - Total times edited: 2 |

I am so not understanding the all the drama created by sending a message about the DVD you sent.......you sent it, you got your credit so just don't contact the receiver!! The system will take care of a DVD not marked received.
Let it go!!! |

Update...dvd was misdelivered afterall. I saw a lady in a minivan slip it into my box Sunday morning. I recognized her (she lives 1 street over) but didn't make it outside in time to thank her. Will send her a thank you card. |

Alls well that ends well :O) |

Kathryn, my note does state: If it did arrive please mark it received once you have had the opportunity to ensure the DVD works. Maybe I need to rewrite it so that others understand it is not about marking received and rushing the person but about tracking the package before it gets further lost in the system. |

I usually wait 5 days before PMing. Two days seems a bit soon to me.... |
|||
|
|||
+1 |

|

5 days is much more reasonable imo. Even if you arent trying to rush the person, 2 days still makes me feel rushed even if its not the intent of the pm. |
||
|

5 days would work too... I could do that... |

Sounds good Andrea! | |||

Oh, and back to the original post... ; ) I once rcd a multidisc set that I wanted to watch and repost. It skipped / was unpostable / damaged....something or another and I had to mark it RWAP. The Team returned all six (or so) credits and I felt horrible taking them b/c I knew I could trade it in the Bazaar for 4 credits. I sent in feedback and offered the 4 credits back but they wouldn't take them. I really wish there was a way here to donate credits back to the site as there is at PBS (HINT-HINT-HINT), but there still isn't....I don't want all six credits when something like that happens. I only want the difference...I really want a donate to SwapaDVD option here... |

well, you could always xfer to pbs and donate there, but im pretty sure the dvd and pbs teams are different people (or so I got the impression), so not sure if it would really be the same. Yea, I always feel bad RWAP something like UPCs when I know I can trade in bazaar to eventually get my credit back, but people who give me attitude about it deserve marks on their records for not following the rules when they know the rules. |
