I'm a big fan of silents, when I'm in the right mood.  My favorites are Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde with John Barrymore, The Man Who Laughs, The Unknown, Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Metropolis and Sherlock Jr.

I've been a bit behind on my silent film watching, but my faves are Metropolis, The Lost World, The Phantom of the Opera, Steamboat Bill Jr, The General, Sherlock Jr, D.W. Griffith's Way Down East (shot in my home state of Vermont!), The Gold Rush, Pandora's Box and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
