Anyone see the new remake staring Christian Bale & Russell Crowe?  It was fantastic.

It's been quite a while since a decent western has come out.

I really want to see it.  I haven't had a chance yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about the movie and look forward to eventually seeing it.

haven't seen 3:10 to Yuma (I'll definitely rent it when it comes out on dvd) so I can't say how good it is or isnt.  The most recent really great western I've seen would be Unforgiven.

Check out the original too from 50+ years ago starring Glenn Ford and Van Heflin. I just saw it for the first time a few months back. It is very good as well. My wife and I both liked it.

This is the best movie of 2007 (in my opinion) I saw it 4 times in the theatre. and watched 3 more times on DVD since it came out.  I'm upset that it was only up for one oscar.  Bale did an amazing job. The music was fantasic, I own the CD too.  If you haven't watched it-- do it now! ha ha.

My family watched the recent version of 3:10 to Yuma on DVD recently and we were disappointed. It wasn't bad, perhaps it was just over-hyped and we expected too much. A mediocre western, a mediocre movie.

I agree with SevenSpiders -- Unforgiven is a great movie that I'll never forget. I've watched it 4 or 5 times.
