I read the Michael Crichton book Timeline, and wanted to see how well it translated to the film. Like most of his film adaptations, it took the basic concept and a few high points, but was heavily rewritten. I tend to like Billy Connolly in anything, though, so I was glad to see him as the professor. I like David Thewlis, too, though his role was limited. And I like that they kept the subplot with Marek and Lady Claire. Anyhow, if you like time travel stories, this one's not brilliant, but it was fun. I'll say that Gerard Butler (Marek) was my favorite thing about the movie, and that Paul Walker (Chris) was lousy. I've got the widescreen version back in the system now, so feel free to request directly from me if interested.
