Help Center - If a DVD you sent hasn't been marked received yet...

Search Terms:

The average length of time for a DVD to go from one member to another is about 5 days.   This average time in transit includes DVDs mailed to or from addresses outside the continental/contiguous U.S.

If your DVD has been longer than 2 weeks in transit, and has not been marked received:

  • Remember that the requestor may be away from home and unaware if the DVD has arrived.

  • If this is the case, he or she can mark it received when he or she returns home.

    • If the DVD transaction is still active, he or she can mark it received from the En Route to Me tab in My Account.
    • If the DVD has been declared Lost in the Mail, it can be marked received from the requestor's Transaction Archive as described in I received a DVD that was 'lost in the mail'.
  • If you want to discuss the situation with the requestor, you can contact the requestor using the button on the transaction on the DVDs I've Mailed tab in My Account.

    • If the requestor does not respond to your PM within 5 days of your sending the PM and the DVD is declared "lost in the mail", let us know by sending a feedback message.

If you sent the DVD with SwapaDVD Printable Postage and it has been recorded as delivered by USPS but hasn't been marked received yet:

  • Remember that the barcode on the package could have been scanned as "delivered" at the local PO, before it went to the requestor's mailbox--the actual delivery can be a few days later.  Also, the package could have been misdelivered by USPS.
  • You can contact the requestor using the button on the transaction on the DVDs I've Mailed tab in My Account when a few days (3 or 4) have passed after a "delivery" scan without the DVD having been marked received.
  • If the requestor does not respond to your PM within 5 days after you send it, and has not marked the DVD received by the system action date, contact us.  We will look into it.
  • Please note that we can only guarantee credit for DVDs mailed with SwapaDVD Delivery Confirmation. DVDs sent with DC purchased elsewhere do not earn the sender credit if they are lost in the mail.

If your DVD does not arrive by the 26th day (*35th day for items mailed to or from outside the contiguous US) after you marked it mailed, it will be declared Lost in the Mail at SwapaDVD.  This does not mean that the DVD is actually lost; it may simply be delayed en route, or the requestor has gotten it but has not yet marked it received.   If the requestor does not respond to your PM about the lost DVD within 5 days of your sending the PM, you should contact us so we can look into it.
