Movie Reviews

Highly Disappointed, but it is The Clark Sisters

"Just like everyone else, I thought that the DVD was the live recording of The Clark Sisters. The ladies did sing well, however, everyone but Karen did not put enough emphasis and enthusiasm into their singing as they did with the CD performance. The DVD also did not have all of the songs that were on the CD. For example, "Save my Soul, World, My Reedemer, and others. Futhermore, Twinkie did seem disinterested and was sitting down at the organ with her fingers on the keys but was not playing anything!!! How strange? Anyways, I am one of The Clark Sisters' biggest fans, so I would recommend buying the DVD because they will always have the voice. Unfortunately, I really wish that everyone would have taken inspiration from Karen and really allowed they spirit to move in the building."

"Look everyone who is reading this we all know that this DVD is horrible and not what some of us expected or wanted. We do know that this The actual recording was put on video because there have been 1 or 2 clips shown on various gospel shows, so with that in mind we should all flood EMI GOSPEL'S Mailbox requesting that they work out whatever the problem may be with the original video and put it to DVD I think we as the fans of the Clarks deserve it."
I was blessed and enjoyed the concert

"I read the other reviews after I ordered the DVD and it almost made me cancel my order but I'm glad I didn't. I guess it depends where you are in your faith. Are you just into the show, who puts on a great show or does the words to the songs reach down inside ya and fill you up. I could have listened to the DVD with my eyes closed and the spirit in the music would have have found the place in my soul that needed the nourishment. Twinkie did look a little under the weather so I prayed for her and asked God to give her great health and long life. (she's my favorite Clark Sister). The only complaint I have is I wanted more, more more. To those who didn't like the video I would like to point out, it was a concert and it didn't look like it was in a church. There are music lovers who don't go to church but love good music and this may appeal to them in a way the church atmosphere doesn't. Sometimes we have to go outside the church to reach the lost. Amen? Amen."
Didn't like it and wrote EMI to let them know!

"This is my letter to EMI Gospel regarding the DVD concert.

Good Morning,

Yesterday, I purchased the dvd concert of "The Clark Sisters- Live: One Last Time!", and I was very disappointed. The cd itself is awesome, and you could feel the spirit of God as you listened to it. However, the concert that you put on DVD was nothing short of a club performance. The ladies, who usually are second to none, seemed aloof and out of touch with the audience. The audience looked like they came to a performance, to be entertained and there was no spiritual connection whatsoever. I was hoping that the original concert, where Donald Lawrence was there and his background singers participated, was the one that would be featured on the dvd. Twinkie Clark seemed like she wasn't feeling well, and totally out of her usual element. She sat at the organ but I never got to enjoy her playing the organ...seemed pointless to have it there if she wasn't going to play it the was she usually would. The only song that sparked a little bit of a worship feel was "Heaven" (the song which Dorinda Clark Cole leads). Otherwise, the concert seemed rushed and disconnected.

As a minister of music, I would hope that if you are going to release a dvd for gospel artists, that it be exactly that, A GOSPEL CD. Let the artist be in their element...church! Let the audience be in their element...Church. Then, we the viewers can feel as though we have been to church instead of a night club. What better way for the ministry of these fine ladies to be felt and received.

Thank you for a wonderful cd irregardless to how poorly the dvd was received by my family and I.

God Bless You."
