While still one of the funniest shows on television, something happened to Community in this second season. I'm not sure if the producers wanted to make it more over-the-top, or the creator was turned completely loose with no restrictions. Whatever the case, the second season doesn't quite measure up to the first one. Yes, it's still hillarious, but it's hard to take the characters serious at all when things get this bizarre. If the first season had the same atmosphere, it wouldn't have been such a blow...But it was funny and truer-to-life, while this one is just crazy. And some of you may like that. It's a matter of taste. And it's obvious that the writers know there's a change in tone because they make fun of it constantly with little in-jokes. And while that is funny, it's also takes the poignancy down a notch with it. Still a great show, though. Don't let me put you off watching it...Just be warned...Dangerous curves ahead!
