"There are few amazing drummers out there who can teach at the same high level as their drumming ability. Alan Schechner is one of those rare people who can do that. What I love about Coordination and Groove is how Alan breaks down some very difficult patterns so even a bonehead like myself can figure them out. When I was working on learning Steve Vai's material, Alan would help me by breaking it down and writing it out in a way that I could understand. What he does on Coordination and Groove is just that, as well as visually being able to see how he does it. If you are serious about drumming, you need to have this DVD!!!

"The way Schechner incorporates taking a basic straight ahead Rock Groove and morphs it into a radical independent rhythm is clearly explained by his demonstration on this DVD. I think it is cool how you can go online and get more of Alan's transcribed rhythms with the secret code included on the DVD. This video is the Stick Control of DVDs for the Drumset. Because of the modular concepts on his approach to co-ordination , you can always go back and learn something new from it. Well Done and his performance is amazing!!!"

"Coordination and Groove will make you a better drummer. Alan's techniques have helped me improve my concept of timing and playing seperate grooves using both left and right hands simultaneously. Watching him play these intricate grooves and seeing the notes written out on the screen is a concept that I wish other drum DVDs would follow, it makes the learning process much easier. This DVD will make a difference for any drummer out there who takes their instrument seriously!"

"Coordination & Groove with Alan Schechner is the greatest drum dvd I've ever seen, and far from ordinary. I play only guitar and found this video to be intriguing, not only for technical quality, but for straight up incredible drumming.Alan is a true artist and demonstrates in a manner that penetrates the viewer, absolutely relative, and beneficial to all people of music! He covers everything possible and in a very melodic, relaxed way which I think was key to keeping me interested. This dvd answers questions drummers, or other band members may have about styles, technique, timing, gear etc. It does so in a step by step process devoting just the right length of time for each segment, never boring the viewer. Before and after clips of the most popular styles are clearly performed. Alan even includes the online notation presented in his video @ Iconsofrock.com, I think this is really great for people serious about improving their drumming . Then my favorite parts are the solos which incorporate all elements of Alans' wizardry on the set. But you better watch them more than once. As you do you'll see more, and begin to hear a pattern of rhythmic, energy filled drumming that is fluid and undeniably balanced.There are even some cool bonus features from the master cowbeller and stickster Alan Schechner. I'm sure that all who watch, and listen to Coordination & Groove will get something good out of it right away , especially other drummers!"
