Movie Reviews

"Nono! Nono!"
Chandra J. Smith | Pacific Northwest, USA | 08/26/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I watched this movie over and over again around age 3 or 4, and drove my mother crazy because characters in the movie yell, NoNo! NoNo!", every 5 minutes. Nevertheless, I rewound the video as soon as it ended and I had to watch it at least twice a day. I am thinking about purchasing the movie for my nieces, not only to drive my brother nuts but to please the girls in the process. It would be interesting to know how the next generation receives this movie because they are often bored with the toys and videos that amused me when I was their age. Also, I don't remember the extent of the violence content - I do recall being slightly scared of some sort of beast with red eyes in the movie, but I may be confusing it with The Secret of Nimh (another keeper, but has sorcery themes my brother probably won't let the kids watch). If you're going to buy an animated '80s movie, make it this one! Let's put it this way, it was memorable and good enough to search the Internet for 1/2 hour when I couldn't remember the name of that-one-squirrel-movie-with-NoNo-in-it."
Great Childhood Classic

"I remember watching a TV recorded version of this movie when I was really little, and my older brother loved it when he was little too. He called it "Channel Jersey" because he couldn't say "Enchanted Journey". Anyways, this movie is great for kids. Its full of adventure, some cute musical numbers, and unforgetable characters. Plus, those chipmunks are just so darn cute!! Great for any kid!!"
Definately a cute one!

"I remember watching this growing up. Every chance I got.
The movie has been digitally remastered. The colors are bright and clear. Not dull and ickky.
The sound was remastered, as well. There were things I heard on the DVD that I could not hear on the tape.
One small flaw *hence the four stars*. There is a chase scene between Glikko and the fox near the end. On my original VHS, the sound goes up and down during this chase scene, up until Glikko is trapped at the cliff.
The sound does still go down some. They could only remaster so much, but at least you don't have to blast the tv to hear this one area, like I had to way back when.
Two cute songs in this one. And Jim Backus *Mr. Howell* makes quite an interesting rat in this movie. *Gamba* Orson Wells plays Peepo the pigeon.
A charming movie filled with plenty of adventures for two little chipmunks. A must see. Follow along and see if Glikko and No-No make it to their goal. The North Forest. ^_^"
