An extraordinary moment

"I first bought this performance by Kissin in laser disc format years ago and have been anxiously waiting for a DVD release because I don't use laser disc player anymore. Needless to say I am so pleased that I can watch and listen to this magical performance of some of the most beautiful tunes written for piano by 19 year old Kissin. Without exaggeration, this perferomance by Kissin is a truly special one.

The playing was so refrshingly innocent, tender, cristal clear, technically perfect, and always with beautiful singing lines. I believe no one else can play these repertoires better than Kissin at that age. The video was superb, perfectly catching Kissin's unique playing style and his youthful expression; and the audio recording was excellent. Anyone who loves piano music, or I would say music in general, should watch this DVD at least once. I myself have watched it numerous times so far."
Astonishing, rapturous playing

"It is hard to find adequate words to express Mr. Kissin's performance on this DVD. Young as he is, the amount of drama, poetry, and emotion which pours out of him is absolutely amazing. I can only say that the Schubert/Liszt and the Brahms, especially, are marvelous. No matter what your level of skill, or familiarity with the music, you will treasure this DVD."
