If you are a fan of Gypsy King you will be delighted by this DVD.
Why did I not give the DVD 5 Stars? The Gypsys had better and more energetic performances when they were younger, but we are all getting older, so we should overlook that."
Excellent!!

"This is my 2nd DVD concert for the Gipsy Kings. The first one I purchased 3 years ago directly off their Official Website (it's not longer for sale on their website) and I must say - this DVD is EXCELLENT and blows away the first one I purchased! I'm not quite sure why a couple of people previously gave low reviews. This DVD is in HiDef and the sound quality on my home entertainment system is incredible. The Concert includes some old favorites as well as some new hits from their album "Roots". It also has 5 songs in recording sessions as well as a history of the band and a "Pictography" (Pictures of their childhood and their families) AND some historical footage!!! I'm not sure of the other DVD on Amazon with the same name and different packaging but YOU CAN'T GO WRONG BUYING THIS ONE!!. It's a true Gipsy Fiesta!! P.S. All of the titles are listed on the DVD and it's a 21 song concert DVD NOT including the recording sessions!!!"
Muy buenooooooo

Much better than suggested by the average rating

"At the time of writing this review, the average rating on Amazon is 3 stars - out of six reviews, two are 1-star for reasons that have nothing to do with the actual performance. I do think, though, that the Gipsy Kings deserve a far better rating than that for this performance.

I have been a casual fan of their brand of flamenco since the late eighties, but have never seen them perform, either live or recorded. I picked this up by chance while browsing around one day.

Definitely well worth it! The setting is unususal, and the stage setup is pretty minimalist, but these guys perform from their hearts. The guitar playing is fascinating and the backup musicians are excellent. The concert has a good mix of up-tempo hits and more mellow, romatic tunes. The passion these guys bring to their music is evident in their singing and playing, and they all seem expert at doing both.

The video quality is very good in 16:9 aspect ratio, and appears to have been filmed in high defintiion. Likewise for the audio - both the Dolby and DTS surround tracks sound great on my home theater system. I've been watching this DVD a quite few times since it arrived, and it's definitely still growing on me. Very glad I got this!
