I went into this one pretty much blind. Heard some good things about it by others being a good mystery, but didn't read the blurb or reviews on it. I like being surprised by knowing the least about a movie.
Anyway, started off a bit slow, but it didn't take long for me to be caught up in the plot.
It held a few surprises and Lisbeth is someone I'd hate to mess with.
I'm giving it a 4 star rating as an excellent movie to watch, but not with children around because of the subject matter, nudity and sex.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. The story was very tight, intelligently progressing from scene to scene as evidence is discovered. Noomi Rapace's acting is impressive as she play's the hardened, hacker/investigator. Don't bother with the US/UK version, most of the investigation/mystery elements that are so enjoyable in this are missing. The available English dubbing is flawless, so if you don't like subtitles it's not a problem.

I have seen now both versions - Swedish and British/American. The Pincher (Brit/US) version is by far the more textured and rounded.
Noomi Rapace portrays Lisbeth well but is not well served by Michael Nyqvist. He is not able to stand his ground.
Prefer Brit/US version (some of it due to Daniel Craig).

Really excellent movie, and Noomi Rapace did a really good job capturing the character of Lisbeth. I made sure to read the book before watching the movie, so I noticed right away that there are some differences in the storyline, but the movie is very good in its own right.
A bit of warning though, like the book, it's very hard to watch some scenes because of the extreme violence and this movie is definitely meant for mature audiences only.

Love this movie and cannot imagine anyone except Noomi Rapace in the starring role. Shows a darker side of Sweden than most of us would imagine. Did not mind the subtitles at all. Great action and suspense. I did not read the trilogy, but I imagine this series of films is more loyal to the author than the upcoming American versions will be.

This is a great movie. It is one of the best movies that follows the book.
