"I was shocked to hear a kid in the background crying, phone ringing and other various noises. Very dissapointed!I would not buy this."
Could have been better

"the sound was good and the fire was a poppin, the logs were nice but the fireplace was a cheap suburban model with white firebrick and no stone, but anyway you turn on the stereo with some soothing mood music and settle in with a glass of wine,,, suddenly you hear kids hollering, then a phone rings, doors slam,, you wonder are you dreaming or did you just wake up to reality,,, no you discover its coming from your brand new mood fireplace dvd.... you quickly apologize to that special someone who thinks you were to cheap to buy a quality dvd and made this one yourself well you decide its not recommended for use with that special someone you are trying to impress. sooooo i turned it off and put it on a back shelf until something more professional comes along. its now back to the living seas blu ray...."
Not relaxing

"Like the other reviewed explained, kids, screaming, phones ringing, people coming up and downstair, only last 39 something minutes not 60 as in the description. Really homemade video. Did not like it at all."

"Blue Ray Disc: Fireplace

Picture Quality: +0
Ambience: -4

The following items added together produce the total for the ambience rating shown above.
Nice fire +1
No screen in front of burning fire: -1
No music: -1
Distractions on film: -1
Audio distractions: -2

Total rating +1 (barely)... and only because I'm not allowed to rate it any lower!

Picture quality: Decent. The picture quality was no better than expected and maybe not even any better than I'd have gotten from a regular DVD. The product shows a burning fire in a fireplace located in someone's living room.

Ambience: Horrid. Too many audio and video distractions to make this the proper mood-setting piece.

While the snap, crackle, pop of the fire added to the ambience as expected, the amateurish production fell apart in several ways. First and foremost, a seeming disregard for safety practices. There should have been a nice glass or steel mesh screen in front of the fire, but there was none. I kept waiting for the flying sparks to set something on fire.

I was led to believe that some relaxing music would accompany this piece, yet there was none. Even that would perhaps have been acceptable but the camera man allowed several distractions to creep in to this production.

Tending an open fire such as this would be expected and normal, however that did not need to be shown. The bits where a log was added to the fire and where the burning timbers were arranged for better air flow could (and should) have been edited out of this piece... those two bits were in the small portion I watched, and the product probably included more such distractions in the portion I declined to view.

Worst of all were the audio distractions of normal family activities going on in the home. Child crying, clock chiming the hour, telephone ringing, voices murmuring in the background, noises coming from another room, all served to detract from the quality of this production.

Quality of the filmography: Amateurish at best.

Recommendation: Don't waste your money on this! Buy some nice, relaxing music instead."
