This sequel to the first House movie, is totally different from the first one. There is a lot of humor, action, and adventure, it's not really a horror film in my opinion. The actor who plays the Grandfather made an excellent performance. Although he's 175 year's old, he's full of humor and must find the crystal life giving skull from the villain. The main character Jesse, moves into the same house as in the first film. Is completely unaware of the house's abilities to make him face his fears, fantasies and nightmares. Each adventure Jesse has to go through has a solution to an issue he must face in reality. Jesse never knows what he will find waiting for him behind each door to the rooms of the house, but he must face his fears and enter to follow the trail of where the crystal skull is hidden.
I jumped at unexpected and expected surprises, I laughed and I cried. This is not a chick flick or a film full of blood curdling screams and true horror. It's more of a film to watch when you just don't want to put a lot of brain power into (although you do have to follow along enough to know why Jesse is doing what he has to do). This film is more for some comic, action-adventure and semi-horrific content, when you just want to relax. I prefer this sequel more than the original, at least this one has a story line!
