Movie Reviews

Judge Roy Bean Volume 1 (Color) Alpha Video Release
Robert Schultz | Chicago/Skokie, IL USA | 06/30/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Alpha Video has released 4 Color Episodes of the 1950's Tv Show Judge Roy Bean Starring Edgar Buchanon (of Petticoat Junction Fame). Judge Roy Bean Upholds Law & Order in the land West of the Pecos River along with his niece Letty (Jackie Loughery) & Deputy Jeff Taggard (Jack Buetel). The acting is superb and the stories really hold your interest.
The First episode: "Black Jack (Episode #8)" has some splices in the show and the color is rather faded, but it is still a watchable episode.
The next 3 Color episodes have nice color and can be viewed with no problems. "Letty Leaves Home (Episode #13)", "Slightly Prodigal (Episode #7)", The Fugitive (Episode #12)"
This series ran for 39 episodes in 1955-56 and 3/4 of the entire run exists on various DVD Releases. There is no complete set released as of June 2007. So you can purchase most of it inexpensively via the internet.
This is a must for any fan who enjoys those old TV Western Shows.
